The power of colours
Lech Zürs is different. But why is that? Numerous guests from all over the world are sent into raptures whenever they speak of their yearly skiing vacation. And frequently that means a longing for snow-covered peaks, cosy hotel rooms, and hot, steaming Kaiserschmarren* is triggered – so much so that some might be tempted to go get their skis from the cellar in September. But it can’t be that all the guests are wearing rose-tinted glasses and that’s what makes Lech Zürs so special – or can it?! According to Indian theory of colours the colour pink stands for hospitality, so that might just answer the question. Every single house’s hospitality is what makes Lech Zürs so different and so special – a place where people feel so comfortable and attracted they’re happy to admire it through rose-tinted glasses.

Kunstpunkt Hinterwies says thank you!
"Art should not only take place in galleries, but should be taken to where the masses are, such as the ski slopes." — said Gregor Koller, artist and gallery owner, more than twelve years ago. No empty phrase, but the beginning of an ongoing commitment to bring works of art with depth to the curious eyes of locals and guests. Always by his side: Carolin Schertler-Manhart, who as hostess in her Hotel Hinterwies, just like the Lech ski lifts, provides a framework for the art actions of the Kunstpunkt art promotion association. In the recently published book by the two art lovers, "Kunstpunkt:Hinterwies", the art projects of the last twelve years, which have been realised in the public space in Lech am Arlberg by eighteen different artists, are shown on 260 pages. In addition, the photographs printed in the book as well as other photos and videos of the ephemeral art projects will be presented in an exhibition at Hotel Hinterwies. The exhibition opening as well as the book launch will take place on 9 December 2023 and will be jointly organised by curator Gregor Koller and Carolin Schertler-Manhart. The edition of the book is limited to 500 copies. Available at Sagmeister Moden and at Hotel Hinterwies in Lech.
Moncler pays Lech a visit
What do the fashion brand Moncler and Lech have in common? Isn’t it obvious? Both are ahead of their time, always innovative, and simply an experience like no other. This winter, fans of fashion and Lech can look forward to twice the excitement with a very special highlight: Moncler has selected the store at Hotel Gasthof Post for one of its famous pop-up stores, of which there are only three in the world. This means that for an entire season the Sagmeister world will turn into a futuristic Moncler universe, with selected pieces from the current Moncler Grenoble ski collection that can only be found here in Lech as well as unique fashion items that will definitely kindle a passion for skiing. PS: at the same time as the pop-up store, the new Brunello Cucinelli collection awaits guests across the street at Chalet Säge.
Dance into spring
When crazy ski turns meet an energetic mix of sound – that’s when spring fever awakens in all of us: during the Tanzcafé Arlberg Music Festival the unique winter wonderland of the Arlberg becomes the stunning backdrop for a stylish open-air spectacle that beckons you to just swing by any time between 31 March and 14 April, 2024. At the centre of the picturesque mountainous scenery that surrounds Lech Zürs, St. Anton, and Stuben, endless ski slopes blend into stages full of fascinating acts, and dancefloors with an inescapable pull and cool sounds make the crowds dance like there’s no tomorrow.
Sagmeister catalogue photographed in Lech
The fashion store Sagmeister has long been the epitome of fashion in Vorarlberg. Their catalogue is as unique as it is iconic and this year it doesn’t just show the obvious – fashion – in the best light, but also the place that represents this fashion retailer like no other: Lech am Arlberg, synonymous for historic craftsmanship and the desire to preserve beloved traditions while carefully transitioning them into modern times.
As a consequence, a lot of dedication went into choosing the most beautiful spots in Lech, spots that offer the perfect backdrop for the current autumn/winter collection. “From snowfall to storms at 2.400 altitude metres on Mohnenfluhsattel to 20 degrees and sunshine in Zug – during our two shooting days we really had everything”, Clemens Sagmeister tells us – and he is absolutely smitten with the result: an autumn/winter magazine that makes readers long for a magical mountain winter!
The Auenfeldjet connection celebrates its ten-year anniversary!
The idea for a connecting line between the ski regions of Lech Zürs and Warth-Schröcken was already conceived at the beginning of the 1970s – a dream that did not come true until the 2013/2014 winter season when the Auenfeldjet was inaugurated. The state-of-the-art ten-person monocable gondola lift transports thousands of ambitious skiers and snowboarders up to 1.700 metres above sea level swiftly and comfortably. At the same time the Auenfeldjet is so much more than just a modern means of transport, it is also a symbol for the rich history of skiing in the region: skiing pioneer, parish priest Müller from Warth, undertook a courageous journey in 1894. He was the first person to cover the stretch from Warth to Lech on skis. At the time this was a tour de force, today it’s child’s play: Auenfeldjet and Flexenbahn, which was inaugurated in 2016/2017 and which connects Zürs with Stuben and St. Anton, have played their part in making Ski Arlberg the biggest connected ski resort in Austria and the fifth largest in the world.
